Quezon City, 1 April 2026—The St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation, Inc. ,in partnership with the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H Quasha Memorial, is leading an exceptional and meaningful initiative called the Tuition Free Scholarship for Community Physicians.
In the spirit of the country’s Universal Health Care Act, the program offers scholarships to medical students from provinces with very few physicians, in the hope that they will serve their hometowns and the underserved as community physicians.
In detail, the scholarship package covers tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenses, provides a monthly living stipend, housing and utilities support, clothing allowance, laptop and communication support, two annual round trip allowances for home visits, and licensure examination review and exam expenses. In return, graduates of the program will serve as primary care physicians in SLMCFI–developed primary care clinics in underserved areas in the Philippines for five years.

Truly, this initiative exhibits St. Luke’s drive to shape future Universal Healthcare-ready doctors and provide quality care to places beyond reach.
